Media Conference - Joey leaks news, Hacken's expression darkens

Hacken arrived in Malaysia for his concert promotion and any questions regarding "wife Emily" weren't allowed. His face became expressionless at any mention.

Last week, ex-partner Joey Leung was in Malaysia for Minutes to Fame and at some point had leaked that Hacken was soon to become a father. Reporters asked Hacken about this and he only replied "This isn't the time to talk" and implied that Joey was doing well in Malaysia and shouldn't be spilling anything on Hacken to the press!

"I've heard that Joey has been doing very well in Malaysia, I'm happy for him. I've always told him that it's good to go to different places to do things and I've found that his Chinese is becoming better and better. I wish him luck in progressing further in Malaysia."

When asked if Emily will support him in his Genting concert on July 28, he replied "As for this question, umm... let's just finish the questions about the concert first!" The MC by his side kept helping him to fend off the reporters, saying that this question would need to be answer by the concert manager.

When talking about the concert, Hacken had a lot to say. He said that this would be the first time he's held a concert in Malaysia and to accommodate all the age differences and levels of fans, he has decided that the concert will concentrate on singing. Apart from his own old and new songs, there will be songs that he used to listen to as a student and other classics. There should be over 40 songs.

"The most special part is that I will not speak much. There will be a 20 minute medley. Of course I won't be able to play and sing, but there will be a part for the Concert Hall series songs. There won't be much spectacular dancing, but that you all already know. Normal dancing of course there will be, but nothing like Madonna. As for wearing less and less as I sing, unfortunately I don't have the assets. The most important thing is that I hope this concert will be like a fan gathering, the fans can pick the song and I can sing."

As well, this time he's invited Ivana Wong as a guest performer. He said that before he had performed with her in America/Canada singing Air Supply's songs. This time there will be plans for a new idea. After saying that, Hacken joked about Ivana's soft and light voice even when talking.

He revealed that in his new upcoming album, the songs have a more unplugged feel and that in Genting he would sing some of these new songs. As for movies, if time permits, then he might film but at the moment the most important things are the concert and the new album. Next year in February, he will be holding a solo concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum.

As for when Left Alan Right Hacken will reform? "First, I need to finish all the work I have on my hands, before I know if I can work with Alan. Maybe in 2009 or 2010, though of course this is just what I think for now. I'm sure that Alan would want to do another Left Alan Right Hacken concert as well."

After the press conference, Hacken appeared at the concert promotion and saw his employers (the fans that were present) and his smiled much more for them than he did for the reporters. He was half an hour late, and only spoke for 2 minutes before hurriely signing autographes for the 100 selected fans. Even with his own fan club yelling at him to sing "Never chaning in a lifetiem", Hacken told fans to wait another month, giving off a "big brother" feel.

Hacken being secretly filmed is now helpless

Hacken, Eason and Taichi recorded for JSG the night before last. Hacken, almost to become a father, and Emily have been reported to have celebrated Father's Day with 3 generations.

Hacken said "The pregnancy matter should really be let go." After he explained that his sister's son was there that day and that's why reporters writing that there were 3 generatons were correct. Asked if he will move to a more safer place to avoid the paparazzi, he replied "No matter where I move, I still need to go out. Since I don't like it but there's nothing I can do, then the most important thing is that reports dont exaggerate. If they only write about what they take photos of it's ok. And a lot of those reports are written for the masses, so there's nothing i can do about it. (Jacky Cheung had had a daughter before announcing it publicly. Why don't you go ask him to teach you?) Times are different. Now technology prospers, even mobile phones can take pictures." Asked whether he has already starting preparing for the birth Hacken paused before replying "I don't know how to answer you, how about we wait until the conference for my new album first?"

Hacken admits that he's celebrating Father's Day with 3 generations

Hacken and his family were followed yesterday by our reporters. The 4 month pregnant Emily and Hacken went to yumcha with both sets of parents. It was pointed out that 3 generations were together. Hacken told the reporters to speak outright and not to exaggerate for reports. He wouldn't mind as celebritties live normal lives as well. So then the reporters asked whether or not there were 3 generations present. Hacken replies that there was him and his dad, and his sister and her child so therefore there were 3 generations! When asked whether he considered moving, he felt that he wouldn't move just to avoid the paparazzi. There's no way that Hacken and his family can't go out forever, so he joked that next time he goes out he'd wear a t-shirt with his new album's name printed on it and his car would have album posters stuck all over it and help promote the album. In the past, Jacky Cheung managed to successfuly avoid all paparazzi and only announced his daughter's birth after she was born. When reporters told Hacken that he should ask Jacky for some tips, Hacken replied that Jacky was a long time ago! These days everyone's mobile has a camera function, it's dificult to hide. Hacken was asked whether or not that he was getting ready for his wife to secretly give birth and setting up infallable plans. He replied "I don't even know how to answer that."

Hacken @ drive of life MV premiere

TVB's new series "The Drive of Life" will begin airing on July 16th. On June 18th, the "premiere screening" for "The Drive of Life MV" was held. Hacken Lee and Xiao Gang are the singers of this themesong, and appeared at the premiere, along with a small orchestra, conductor Yip Wing Sze, top TVB executive Virginia Lok, and actors from the series including Michael Miu, Sheren Tang, Raymond Lam, Wong Suk Yi, Myolie Wu and Joe Ma.

As it was Michael Miu's birthday, everyone gave him a cake and celebrated with him. This is Michael's 49th birthday, and Sheren gave him a birthday kiss, laughing that Michael still had a lot of gossip for this film even though he was only "falling" into his character - the reality was nothing like what the gossip said.

Hacken appeared at the blessing ceremony for Po Leung Kuk Charity Show. In response to reports he bought a 4 carat massive diamond for his wife, he replied: "Do you think I'm suddenly rich!?" He said that he entered the jewelry store to buy an earring for himself to wear at the Charity show. He also said that if he wanted to buy a 4 carat ring from that store, he would have to be a very rich person, and he was only an ordinary person - the reporters were exaggerating too much. As for reports wife Emily has cut her hair short, and is taking herbal medicine, for their baby, he replied "She cut her hair short so that she can exercise more comfortably. Hacken is lucky he found out he had gallstones

Last night was the recording of "Loveday Love Music Concert" - a combined project of UN Chilren's Fund and Cartier Watches. The program will be broadcast on TVB tonight. Artistes who took part included Hacken Lee, Miriam Yeung, Leo Koo, Justin Lo, Ivana Wong, Jill Vidal, Ng Yu Fei etc.

Recently Hacken had been hospitalized because of gallstones, and yesterday he still looked tired. He said that initially he thought he had eaten the wrong thing, and had gotten food poisoning, until one day he felt really bad after getting up and had to go see the doctor who told him it was gallstones, and he had to go immediately in for surgery. He said: "The doctor said I was really lucky, beacuse all the gallstones are only as big as sesame seeds, and that's why they hurt. If they were any bigger, I could've died without feeling anything!" Hacken praised the staff at the hospital, saying that because he had to record in the afternoon, and he needed to go under general anaesthetic (which involves intubation), the nurses were especially gentle around his vocal cords in case it affected his voice. In the time he was in hospital, his biggest memory was being surrounded by nurses in surgery whilst he was naked - as he is a performer, this was even more embarassing!

LOVEDAY loving music show underwent recording. Hacken Lee, Jill Vidal, Justin Lo, Leo Koo, Kary Ng etc were all invited. Aimee Chan, Miriam Yeung and Derek Lee were MCs for the night. Before, she (Aimee) had experience as an MC and hoped that this time there would be improvement. When asked if she paid attention to this years Miss HKs, Aimee indicated that she had already met this year's contestants. Regarding reports that she was criticising the selection of contestants and that No 2 Ho Ngou Yi has large hips. Hacken undergoes cholecystectomy in hospital

Yesterday, Hacken was successful in going under the radar of the media and secretly went to hospital to undergo choledochotomy (clearing bile ducts) and cholecystectomy (removing gall bladder). After returning home to rest, Hacken hurriedly went online to announce that he was fine and thanked everyone for showing their concern. Tonight he will explain it all in a music show.

After Hacken and wife, Emily, got married they were busy trying to "make a person". and have been going to doctors to get their health checked over. There have been rumours that Emily has already been carrying around the product of their love. HK reporters found that yesterday on Hacken's official site's messageboard, Hacken left a message using his real name and revealed that on Monday he went to hospital to undergo surgery. He said "After doing Roadshow and TVB's show on Sunday, the next day, which was Monday, I went into hospital and underwent choledochotomy (clearing bile ducts) and cholecystectomy (removing gall bladder)."

Thanking the doctors and nurses

Hacken indicated that two months ago he had already suffered from constant abdominal pains and at first thought it was his stomach. Later after ultrasound, gallstones were discovered. And as all the events around that time were all packed together, he had to wait until Monday before he could get surgery done. He also said "I never had time to do surgery, until the pain got worse." Hacken also thanked all the nurses and doctors and also said "Surgery was 100% successful, thanks to all the nurses and doctors at Queen Mary Hospital, especially my surgeon."

Lastly, Hacken laughed that he managed to ditch the doggies and safely return home to rest: "I'm already out of hospital and successfully avoided the doggies (paparazzi) haha! Don't worry everyone, if all goes to plan I'll be on TVB's United Nations show on Friday." Reporters contacted Hacken's assistant who said "Thanks for everyone who showed concern, tomorrow (tonight) Hacken will see reporters and then he'll explain it all."

Roadshow's "Celebrating the return to China - hearts linked together evening" was held on 3rd of June in HK. It started with a Buddhist ceremony in the afternoon where Alan Tam and Dodo Cheng made an appearance. This year is the 10th anniversary of the return to China, and lots of artistes took part, acting and singing to celebrate the strength of these 10 years. In the evening Alan Tam, Hacken Lee, Miriam Yeung, Leo Koo etc sang their classic songs, creating an explosive atmosphere.
